NEWS

CSUF journalism students

On October 5, California State University, Fullerton journalism students from Professor Walter Baranger’s class visited our Santa Ana location. I had the pleasure of leading a tour of our County Service Center and the Old Orange County Courthouse to introduce the students to the purpose of local government and how OC Clerk-Recorder serves the public, and to see our office in action.

I am thankful for teachers such as Professor Baranger who are so dedicated to providing students with immersive learning opportunities. Thank you for everything you do.

California Great ShakeOut

On October 20, my staff and customers participated in the Great California Shakeout earthquake drill by practicing DROP, COVER, and HOLD ON. This drill is the largest of its kind in the world, with over 44.7 million participants worldwide. The safety of my staff is of the utmost importance, and earthquake preparedness is essential to everyone’s wellbeing in the event of an emergency.

I would like to thank my hardworking and dedicated staff who made our special Saturday opening possible this past October 22.

We processed a total of 34 passport applications, performed a total of 111 civil marriage ceremonies, and issued a total of 178 marriage licenses.

Thank you to everyone who visited our three offices. Congratulations to all the couples who got married. We are honored to be part of your special day and wish you the best on this new chapter.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS

Employee of the Month Image

Each month we recognize an employee who goes above and beyond their normal duties and offers excellent service to our customers. The Employee of the Month receives a certificate of recognition, has their name placed on a recognition plaque and may dress casual during their month of recognition.

It gives me great pleasure to announce Sam Javanmardi as Employee of the Month for October.

Since joining the department in November 2021, Sam has quickly adapted to the department’s ever changing work environment. He has learned to support all the essential application systems that help the department run smoothly in a relatively short amount of time. Sam’s ability to quickly learn and adapt speaks volumes of his exemplary technical skills and abilities. This has helped him become an essential member to the department’s IT unit.

Sam is highly motivated and is always prepared to lead and help others without hesitation. He has a strong work ethic and is always looking for ways to help his unit succeed and improve. He is always eager to learn and apply new skills which is evident in the volume of projects he has successfully completed. Sam has a remarkable ability for multi-tasking and overcoming obstacles. He has set a good example for all to follow.

Sam’s cheerful, cordial, and positive disposition makes him a great pleasure to work with. He treats every colleague with the dignity and respect that they deserve, which is appreciated by all. We are thankful to have Sam on our team.

Please join me in congratulating Sam on this achievement!
